(Miami, FL – June 19, 2009) Universal Music Latino, a division of Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), the world’s leading Latin music company, today announced plans to release the Nelly Furtado single “Manos Al Aire” (Hands in the Air) to worldwide radio on June 29th, with digital and mobile retail availability to follow the next day. Capturing a woman’s outpouring of vulnerability for the sake of true love, and her eventual surrender to the inevitable, “Manos Al Aire” is the lead single from Nelly Furtado’s eagerly awaited all-Spanish Language album Mi Plan – set for release on September 29, 2009.

The GRAMMY Award-winning artist’s fourth studio album and follow-up to the multi-platinum Loose which propelled Furtado to top all global music sales in 2007, Mi Plan represents the realization of Nelly’s dream to further her natural musical expression in Spanish following acclaimed collaborations with artists such as Juanes and Calle 13. Nelly has done many successful collaborations with artists all over the world in all different genres, but the collaborations with the Latin artists left her with this huge desire of expressing herself in this language, and that is how this album was born. The album will once again demonstrate Furtado’s collaborative abilities, as both a songwriter and co-producer, to work with leading lyricists, producers and guest artists from across the globe in creating uniquely fresh and passionately strong music.
